Leaf Creek Maxwell’s Silver Hammer is a 4 year old, 4-horn, chocolate lilac ram with a really interesting set of primitive traits and good wool quality (24.5 microns, see attached image of results). He would do best in a flock with a higher color % – and with a handler who is experienced with rams*.
He’s given us some really nice lambs with great spacing and overall shape to their horns as well as beautiful fleeces and primitive heartiness. He’s a very majestic ram, and grows a very manly beard over the winter, usually about 6″ long, right at his neck line in front of his wool.
Delivery may be an option depending on your location.
*Full Disclosure:
During the fall Maxwell is a handful when it comes to grain scoops and ewes. He’s never butted anyone, but has knocked a grain scoop out of a hand and gets very frustrated/challenges fences when he’s not in a breeding group.
